Mildred Ann Phillips

On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Mildred Ann Phillips departed this life and entered eternal rest. She was born on January 30, 1935 in Smithfield, Virginia to the late John and Fannie Dixon.

She grew up with eight siblings, Bernice Dixon, Lillie Welch, Penny Dixon, Essie Riddick, Louise Sykes, Vernon Dixon, and Howard Jarvis, Jr. who have predeceased her ; and one surviving sister, Georgia Haskins.

Mildred was a member of New Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as a Missionary. She was a Nurse’s Assistant for several years at Autumn Care. In the early years our fondest memories of Mildred would be the times you got to visit her in Harper Town. She loved to go fishing, crabbing, and cooking.

Mildred was an outgoing person who didn’t mind helping you when you were in need. Her strong will and determination carried her through life.

A funeral servcie will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
