Norfolk - Alberta Perkins, 88, of the 1000 block of Hatton Street was called home to be with the Lord. Born in Norfolk County, she was a private duty nurse for 30 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of New Hope CCC, where she served as a Deaconess, a nurse, and as a member of many other organizations at the church.

She is predeceased by her husband, Russell E. Perkins, Sr., two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn P. Spruill (Wilbert) of Norfolk; three sons, Alvin R. Perkins of Norfolk, Calvin L. Perkins (Jadena) of California, and Russell E. Perkins, Jr.(Sharon) of Chesapeake; one sister, Annie Johnson (Maggie), thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, twenty one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at New Hope CCC. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 3-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake where the family will receive friends from 6-7pm.
