NORFOLK – As the autumn leaves make the transformation, Alberta Wood Watson 90, of the 1100 block of Pike Street made her peaceful transformation on October 11, 2011. Alberta was born on April 16, 1921 to the late Sarah and Tilton Wood. She was the wife of the late Abner L. Watson Sr. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Beatrice Wood Thomas of Norfolk, a step-son, Abner Watson Jr. (Annie) of New York, step-daughter, Linda Goodwyn (Maryland), Nieces, Althea Thomas Wynn, Chesapeake,Va. Ava Thomas Paxton, Va. Beach, Va., Jean Watson-Jeffery, Chesapeake, Va., a nephew, Clifton A. Wood Jr.(Rhonda), Va.Beach, Va. grandchildren, and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Alandria P. Harris of Chesapeake, Va. who has shown undying dedication to the family.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. at Pretlow and Son Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street Chesapeake, Virginia 23324.
The funeral will be held Monday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2201 Wingfield Ave., Chesapeake, Va. 23324. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Condolence can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
