Obituary

On Tuesday December 20, 2011, God dispatched his angels to bring his daughter. Alease Carrington Cooke home. Born in Norfolk, on July 16, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Sadie Carrington. Alease was the widow of Samuel Linnette and her second husband William Cooke. She was the youngest of 11 children.
Left to cherish her memoires is one daughter, Yvonne Williams of Portsmouth, three sons, Elmo Linnette (Diane) and Wayne Linnette of Norfolk, and Dennis Cooke (Cynthia) of Chesapeake; twenty four grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 3-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A celebration of Alease's life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Campostella, 1510 Conoga St., Norfolk, with the Rev. Tyrone Jackson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. the day of the service for the procession to the church.
