Mr. Andrew Lindsey Sr., was born and raised in Cullen, Virginia. He raised his family in New Jersey, and after retiring he moved to the Hampton roads area because his wife loved the beaches. He was a man who honored his country and loved serving in the U.S. States Army. Germany was his favorite place!

Mr. Lindsay also retired from the Civil Service. He was a very hardworking, kind, loving and giving person. He played a great leadership role in the family, as well as society by donating to many charities and organizations. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger, and he always had a smile on his face. He loved wrestling, baseball, talking, and fish on Fridays was a must! His heart was his two grandsons and great-grandson. He was never concerned about himself always put others first!

Andrew Lindsey Sr. died October 9, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center located in Hampton, Virginia after a long battle with Kidney Failure and CHF. He is survived by his three sons Andrew Lindsay Jr., Bernard Lindsay and Gregory Lindsay Sr. He is also survived by four grandsons Caleb, Victor, Gregory Jr., and Isiah; one granddaughter, Latoya Green; one great grandson Giovanni Lindsay; four sisters, Thelma Dickerson, Barbara Faw, Patty Ruth and Eleanor Burton, and a host of relatives and friends.

Our father will be missed dearly, honored, and loved always. His legacy that was truly a blessing from our heavenly father above will live on in each of us!

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton. Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm Monday at the funeral home.
