Obituary
Chesapeake – Annie Baldwin Staley of the 400 block of Clemson Avenue departed this life on July 21, 2013. Born in Chatman County, North Carolina, she was a seamstress until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Atlas Staley. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Dorothy Burnett of Chesapeake; one uncle, Rev. Peter Bell (Alice); five sisters-in-law, Joyce Baldwin, Lucy Staley, Doris Burnett Perry, Carol Burnett Stuart, and Marjorie Burnett James, and several nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Entombment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 1pm – 5pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
