Anthony Kenneth Brown, affectionately known as "Smiley" and AKB2, was born on February 12, 1961, and transitioned peacefully on January 11, 2026. True to his name, Smiley was known for his bright smile, contagious laughter, and joyful spirit. He brought warmth, humor, and love to everyone he encountered and had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome and valued.
Anthony was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Janice Jones; his parents, Harriet Olivia Brown and John Henry Brown; his sisters, Emma White and Penny Griffin; his brothers, Willie White and Terry Brown.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughters, Natesaha Jones and Shamika Jones; his grandchildren, Shahmon Jones, Shamontay Jones, Shamier Jones, Irish Wilson, and James Wilson; and his great-grandson, Ki'royal Wilson.
Anthony is also survived by his siblings: Gail Spence (husband, Jackie Spence), Margo Dixon (wife, Patsy Dixon), Brenda Crudup (husband, Robert Crudup), Henry Bullock and Allen Brown; as well as his sister-in-law, Toni Brown; and his uncle Charlie Brown. He is further survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews, including Jacqueline Britt, Shevon Spence, Jasmine Dixon, Margo Dixon Jr., Demetrius Brown, Syreeta Brown, Marquita Brown, Cassandra Jones, Ashlee Brown, Tawana Boone, Keesha White, Deoncole Griffin, Tory Griffin, and Terri Brown, along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Anthony Kenneth Brown was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His laughter, love, and unforgettable smile will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Although our hearts are filled with emotion and sorrow, we rejoice and thank God for a life which leaves behind laughter and goodness. Anthony knew God and had a personal relationship with Him. We have peace of mind knowing he was a beautiful flower plucked out of the garden by Jesus to become one of the center pieces of Heaven.
