Born on June 25, 1959, in Norfolk, Virginia, Anthony Levell Jenkins, also known as “Tony,” of Kernersville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2026, at the age of 67.

He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan who proudly supported his team. Beyond being a Cowboys fan and Tony to his friends and family, he held a name that meant even more: DAD to Queen Crenshaw, Jerome Highter, King Crenshaw, Crystal Hodge, Renee Jenkins (Brian Irby), and Prince Anthony Jenkins. Let us not forget the children’s mothers, Nigeria Odwin and Trevillian “Peaches” Highter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his 7 siblings: Shelby (Albert) Gill, Horace Jenkins, Hortense (Elton) Stepney, Troy (Pamela) Jenkins, Polo Jenkins, Blanche (Pierre) Anderson and Jermale Jenkins.

He is also remembered by his 14 grandchildren: Quadir Crenshaw, Shaniya Highter, Chrishawn Hodge, Keloris “KeKe” Clayton, Amiah Sullivan, Caylani Highter, Jayden Highter, Chaquan Hodge, Caleah Hodge, Cawjuan Hodge, Cyrus Hodge, A’Siah Irby, A’Riah Irby, and Londyn Highter.

Let us not forget his nieces and nephews: Albert Gill, Adrian (Tanisha) Gill, Corey Jenkins, Ivory Etheridge, Troy Jenkins, Darnell Jenkins, Pierre Anderson Jr., and Brianna Anderson. He also leaves several great-nieces and great-nephews, along with extended family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Bertha Jenkins. Although his passing leaves a space that no one else can fill, his family will carry his laughter, dancing, unforgettable bird call, and the memories they shared in their hearts. His story lives on through every smile and every loving remembrance.
