Arthur Woodard, 63, died May 28, 2015 at 9:48 am in Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. He was born in Orangeburg, SC but he was raised in Norfolk, VA.
Arthur was commonly known as "Butch" by those who knew him well, but he had many names like "Butchie Boy", "Cat Eyes", "Slim" and "Wood". In his early years he spent a brief period in the Job Corps. He would always take time to talk to his grandsons, nieces and nephews about obeying their parents and staying in school.
He was predeceased by his parents, Willie Clay Woodard Sr. and Fannie Bell Woodard.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Qutilda Stephenson and his two grandsons, Tyquan and Zion Stephenson, Norfolk, VA; two sisters: Rose M. Furtrell (James) and Yvonne Lane (Calvin, deceased), both of Norfolk, VA; one brother Willie Clay Woodard, Jr. (Marietta); a devoted aunt, Queen Woodard, Norfolk, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
