IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ashanti Mazwell
Dixon
January 8, 1994 – March 6, 2021
Ashanti Mazwell Dixon departed this life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Ashanti was the daughter of the late Eula Denise Dixon. She was born on January 8, 1994 in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Ashanti was a very energetic person, who moved daily like a locomotive. She was a "go-getter" and believed in completing tasks immediately. To her family and friends, Ashanti was kind. She would give you the shirt off of her back. If it were possible, she would give her heart, because of the loving feelings she had for others.
Ashanti received her education in the Chesapeake Public School System and graduated from Oscar Smith High School. Over the years, while studying at Norfolk State University and Old Dominion University, she worked at Eastern Virginia Medical School, The Hague Medical Center, and Octapharma Plasma as a Nationally Certified Phlebotomist. She also worked as a Care Facilitator for Jencare. At the end of the 2020-2021 academic year, she was scheduled to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Services Management from Norfolk State University. Her future was very bright.
At an early age, Ashanti became a member of First Baptist Church, South Hill, in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was a choir member and a praise dancer. Ashanti enjoyed participating in these activities.
Ashanti leaves to cherish her memory, her beautiful daughter, Anila D. Parker of Chesapeake. She is also survived by her grandmother, Alice D. Heckstall of Chesapeake and brother, Richard A. Dixon of Jarratt, Virginia; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Eula D. Dixon.
