Chesapeake - Austin E. Crudup, 85, of the 100 Block of Jones Street, departed this life February 5, 2008. Born in Chesapeake, he was employed with the Naval Public Work Center at NOB for 39 years until he retired in 1980. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church South Hill, where he was Deacon Emeritus.



He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Annie M. Crudup, daughters, Vanessa Suggs (Edward) and Denise Russell (Forrest), and son, Austin Lee Crudup all of Chesapeake, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one uncle, a host of other relatives and friends.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church South Hill. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
