Chesapeake - Barbara C. Jenkins "Sugar Pie" of the 4200 block of Reid Street entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 6, 2007. "Sugar Pie" as friends and family knew her was born October 5, 1937 in Baltimore, MD and raised in the South Hill section of Chesapeake.



She is survived by four sons, Gregory McCoy and wife, Gayla of Orlando, FL, Reginald McCoy and wife Beatrice, Donald McCoy and wife Sherri, and Clarence Jenkins, Jr. all of Chesapeake; three daughters, Cassandra Armstrong and husband Mickey, Anita Moyler and husband Benny, and

Barbara Ann Jenkins all of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Mickey (Binka) Armstrong, Stephen Jenkins, Kassandra (K.C.) Armstrong, Marque Cuffee, Ebony Harrell, Caroline McCoy, Joseph McCoy, Gregory McCoy, Jr., Octavius Davis, Lamont Allen, Reginald McCoy, Jr., Alysia McCoy, Jeremy McCoy, Marvelle Moyler, Joshua Moyler and Sylvia Ruffin; great-grandchildren, Jenascia Armstrong, and Amarion Harrell; a sister, Mary Elizabeth McCoy of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of  other relatives and friends. Sugar Pie was predeceased by her parents, and two brothers.



She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Her life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She worked for Battaglia Produce Corporation in Chesapeake for many years and Chesapeake Public Schools.



A funeral service will be held Saturday January 13, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2201 Wingfield Avenue with Reverend John T. Blackwell, Associate Minister officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home of Chesapeake with burial in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 12, 2007 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. On the day of the service, the family will assemble at 4200 Reid Street at 11:00 a.m. for the procession to the church.
