Norfolk – Barbara Ann Rivers of the 700 block of Halifax Street departed this life on September 3, 2013. Born in Norfolk, she retired from the Chesapeake Public School System.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Kimberly, son, Morris and mother Rachel. Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela Johnson of Virginia Beach and Sharon Hazer of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Kimyatta Rivers and Jackee Davis both of Norfolk; two great grandchildren, Tykia Henderson and Dominique Alston; six sisters, two brothers and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 1pm Monday at St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, 1700 Melon Street, Norfolk. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-5pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.
