Norfolk – Barton Lewis Boyd, born October 3, 1966 passed away at home surrounded by his loving family in Norfolk on April 7, 2010.

He was predeceased by his brother, PFC Walter Boyd Jr. and his father, Walter Boyd Sr.

Barton the youngest of 6 children leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Marian S. Boyd; sisters, Jennifer M. Tyson, and Cassandra Parker and her husband, Myron D. Parker who was his special big brother; brothers, David A. Boyd Sr. (Bonita) and Warren Boyd along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bart was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He loved to watch the Lakers play; bragging about Kobe Bryant. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.

A service of celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, April 13 at noon at St. John's A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute Street. Viewing will be Monday, April 12 from 3- 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, where the family will receive friends from 6-7pm. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
