Chesapeake - On Monday, February 4, 2008 our family was broken with the loss of our beloved mother, Bertha M. Jackson that was called home to be with the Lord. A native of Covington, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John B. Reid and Camilla Jones Reid. Her husband of 60 years, Harry E. Jackson, Jr., sons, Harry E. Jackson III, and Andre Mark Jackson, brother, John Reid, and sisters, Dorothy and Bessie preceded her in death.



She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lynne Boykin of Maryland and Robin Dawson (Darrell) of Oklahoma; four sons, Edward "Chick-a-Dee", John "Fuzzy" (Carolyn), Stephen "Turk"(Pamela), and Eric all of Chesapeake; one brother,  Gregory Jones of Richmond; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Campostella. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held 12pm - 5pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
