Norfolk – Bertha Lee Pittman King, 90, of the 6900 block of Partridge Street was called home to be with the Lord November 18, 2008. Born in North Carolina, she was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Pastor's Aid and Missionary, and an honorary member of Rock Church.

She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Hermon E. King Sr., daughter, Florence Bass, daughter-in-law, Gladys H. Clark, and granddaughter, Shelia Artis. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Cora L. McRaft (James) of Virginia Beach, James O. Clark of Newport News, Hermon E. King Jr. of Norfolk, George L. King (Marilyn) of Chesapeake, and Arthur J. King (Sheri) of Norfolk; twelve grandchildren, William Clark, Michael Masden, David Masden, Lewis Masden, Bertha Masden, Tonya Pritt, Woodrina Layton, Trenton Bly, Nichole Bly, Antoine King, Lewis King and Lisa Evans, thirty-two great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Rock Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6pm - 8 pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Viewing will began at 2pm Friday at the funeral home..
