Virginia Beach – Bessie Lillian Johns, 90, of the 1000 block of Hope Avenue departed this life March 6, 2012. Born in Camden County, North Carolina, she was a former member of First Calvary Baptist Church.
She is predeceased by her husband; John T. Johns. Survivors include her sister, Ruth Delores Holmes of Chesapeake, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Monday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Sunday from 12pm – 5pm at the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
