Obituary

Chesapeake - Bishop Calton Lee Ford, 64, of the 2100 block of Rock Creek Drive was called home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013. Born in Norfolk, he was employed with Dominion Power for 30 years until his retirement. Bishop Ford was Pastor of Emmanuel True Holiness Church for 25 years. He served as Bishop over the Southern District of Pentecostal Followers of Jesus Christ Ministry Inc.

Bishop Ford is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gloria A. Ford of Chesapeake; five daughters, Alecia T. Jacobs (John), Almeta A. Ward (Keith), Dannetta N. Townsend (Jobarie), Tracey Flemings (Martin) all of Chesapeake, and Carmelita Ruffin of Norfolk; one son, Calton Lee Ford II of Chesapeake; six sisters, Thelma Vaughan of Virginia Beach, Sandra Spellman of New York, Willie Jones of Chesapeake, Addie Irby and Lillian Slade (Calvin) of Virginia Beach, and Helen Wray (Fabian) of New Jersey; one brother, James Spellman Jr. (Kathleen); eleven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel True Holiness Church, 2503 Deep Creek Blvd, Portmouth, VA, 23704. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
