Caleb Moore Sr. was born November 15, 1924 in Halifax County, NC and passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son of the late Frederick and Anliza Worsley-Moore. At an early age he married his wife Annie Elizabeth Smith-Moore. Together they produced four boys and two girls.

He was a hard working truck driver who took pride in attending night classes to further his education because he loved working with his hands. He was a strong believer in hard work, education and the love of his family.

In addition to his parents, Caleb was preceded in death by four brothers Robert, Frederick, Phillip and Benjamin Moore; two sisters Mary Young and Hattie Brown; two sons Melvin and Marvin Moore and his granddaughter Phylicia L. Moore.

Those left to cherish his memories are four sisters, Dorothy Jones, Ann Moore and Lillie M. Keaton (Charles) of Washington, DC, and Esther Macklin of Portsmouth, VA and one brother Cornelius Moore (Patricia) of Raleigh, NC. As well as his five children, Eugene Smith (Juanita) of Collierville, TN, Caleb E. Moore Jr. of Norfolk, VA and Douglas D. Moore (Lola) of Teaneck, NJ. Two sisters, Marion L. Moore-Ford (Hercules) Queens, NY and Linda C. Moore, VA and a host of nieces, nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 875 Baker Road, Virginia Beach. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
