Newport News - Carl Randolph Cherry, 51, departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2011. He was predeceased by his father, Linwood Cherry, Jr. and a brother, Ivan Cherry.
He is survived by his mother, Lorene Cherry of Newport News; a son, Carlton Boggs (Lakita) of Chesapeake; a daughter, Kenya Alexander of Hampton; four grandchildren; two sisters, Teresa Cherry Vanhook and Sandy Cherry Edwards of Newport News, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Windsor, NC. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2-6pm, Tuesday at Cook Brothers Funeral Home. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangements.
