Chesapeake – Charlie Clifton Brown, 70, of the 2300 block of Dunbarton Drive departed this life October 19, 2008. Born in Chesapeake, he earned a bachelor's degree from Howard University, and was employed as an Electrical Engineer until his retirement. He was a member of Omega PSI PHI Fraternity, and a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a First Lieutenant.

He is predeceased by his wife Carol R. Brown and son, Charlie C. Brown Jr. Survivors include two sisters, Georgia B. Welch of Chesapeake and Mabel B. Hines of Norfolk; two brothers, James Brown (Audrey) of Virginia Beach and Willie C. Brown of Chesapeake; one grandson, Clifton Brown; one granddaughter, Alisha Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
