On Sunday, January 5, 2020, an angel was dispatched to VCU Hospital to take the hand of Cheri "1 Slim QT" Nicole Davis, and ushered into eternal home.

Cheri was born on June 4, 1987, in Newark, New Jersey, to Sheila and James Davis.  She gained her formative education through Hampton Public Schools after relocating to Hampton, VA on August 1999.

Cheri had one son Camrien Jahkeer Davis who was the Love of her Life.  Cheri's dedication to her son was unmatched, whenever you saw Cheri you saw "Cam". Cheri affectionately called him "Killa Cam".

Cheri had a passion for shopping, having fun and going on road trips.  She also loved to go crabbing, believe it or not the "Jersey girl" was pretty good at it.

Cheri was a dedicated employee of Alorica, in Newport News, VA., for several years. Rain, sleet or snow Cheri was there and no doubt looking very stylish.

She also worked for the City of Hampton at the North Hampton Community Center where she worked the front desk. When you walked in you would always see her smiling face which was priceless.

Cheri leaves to cherish her memories a son, Camrien, her mother Sheila Davis, father James Davis, five brothers, James Kelly Davis, James Gwaltney, Ali Brodie, Robert Davis, and Marquise Davis, uncle John Muhammad, special aunties Sandra Pretlow (Richard), Synthia Bailey, and Tonya Braxton, God Sister Nikkia McAllister, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel, 1601 27th Street, Newport News, where viewing will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Monday, January 13, 2020. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangements.
