Chesapeake- Mr. Clarence Jenkins Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 16, 2013. He was born June 1, 1966 in Norfolk, VA. He grew up in the Wilmund Place section of Chesapeake, VA and was a graduate of Indian River High School. Mr. Jenkins was an employee of Steiner B. Moore Corporation for many years.
"Sweets", as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a man of great pride and sincerity; full of love for his family and friends. He was adored by his friends and was fun to be around as he had a great sense of humor. Sweets enjoyed playing basketball and loved listening to music.
Sweets was predeceased by his mother, Barbara C. Jenkins. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Ebony Owens and her husband William, and their four children: Amarion Harrell, Arieana Williams, Aniyah Owens, and Myanah Owens. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Gregory McCoy and wife Gayla of Orlando, FL, Reginald McCoy and wife Renee, Donald McCoy, Cassandra Armstrong and husband Mickey, Anita Moyler and husband Benny, and Barbara A. Jenkins. He is also survived by his nephews Mickey "Binka" Armstrong, Stephen Jenkins, his niece Kassandra "K.C." Armstrong, as well a host of other nieces and nephews and his father Clarence Jenkins Sr.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
