Chesapeake - Clentora Manley, "Mae", 87, of the 1800 block of Ohio Street departed this life February 18, 2009. Born in Chesapeake, she was a homemaker. She was a longtime active member of St. Joseph AME Zion Church, where she served on usher board #1 and #3, as a class leader, and a Missionary life member.



She is predeceased by her husband, Raleigh Manley, and her children, Luther Askew, Melvin Manley, Catherine Manley and Tyrone Manley. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Bryant (Herbert) and Carolyn Carrington; seven sons, Raleigh Jr. (Vera), Kareem Azeez, Willie Goins (Ramona), Alfonza, Jerry (Brenda), Maurice (Karen) and Terry (Tammy); thirty four grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Dorothy Mae Elliott; two caregivers, her granddaughters, Terri Manley and Maureen Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 12 pm – 5 pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will meet and greet friends from 3pm – 4 pm.
