Obituary





Chesapeake - Clyde W. Smaw of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd. departed this life July 15, 2007. Born in Norfolk, he was employed with the city of Chesapeake until his retirement. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he served on the Male Usher Board and the Trustee Board, and participated in the Showers of Blessings.



He is survived by his son, Anthony Smaw (Natasha) of Virginia Beach; daughter, Venus I. Wilson of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Teaureem D. Smaw and Malik L. Smaw of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, Ananda T. Smaw of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Jessie Smaw of Virginia Beach, Laveta Mabry (Melvin) of Chesapeake, and Hattie E. Roberts (Ed) of Suffolk; four brothers, Paul Hayes (Shirley) of Virginia Beach, Edward Smaw of Portsmouth, Columbus Gordon (Connie) of Virginia Beach, and Vincent Gordon of Atlanta, Georgia; a special friend, Antoinette Wilson of Chesapeake; stepmother, Annie Mae Smaw of Chesapeake; special nieces, Wanda, Tonya, Sonya, Reese, Kenya, Tamika, and Tiffany; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.



A funeral service will be held noon Friday at Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 2pm - 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
