VIRGINIA BEACH - Colbert C. Swain, 70, passed away Sept. 8, 2009. He was born in Windsor, NC to John and Cartie Swain.

Mr. Swain served in the US Army 1958-64. He worked for the US Postal Service retiring after 27 years. From there he became a bus driver/dispatcher for Carolina Trailways, and a Wainwright Real Estate agent. Swain was an avid bowler and loved to play the guitar and piano. He was also a member of Rock Church.

Mr. Swain is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane; daughters, Shari Swain and Lisa Mayes; son-in-law Charles Mayes; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Rock Church, Sept. 12, at 11 am., with viewing at 10 am. Arrangements by Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home.
