Chesapeake- Deborah Ann Nichols of the 2800 block of Camelot Blvd. was born December 5, 1967, and departed this life Tuesday, December 17, 2007. A graduate of Great Bridge High School, she attended the Virginia Beach School of Cosmetology.
Deborah was an Emergency 911 dispatcher with the City of Chesapeake Police Department for six years, where she achieved Dispatcher of the year in 2005 for her dedicated services. She was a member of the Chesapeake Law Enforcement Benevolent Association (CLEBA), and a faithful member of Solid Rock Worldwide Outreach Ministry. She loved helping others.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Edward M. Nichols; her father, Robert Skinner Sr. (Jennifer) and mother, Shirley Shivers (Mills); three children, Michael Powell Jr., Debroun Nichols and Danielle Peterson; one grandson, Jamarion Peterson; three brothers, Robert Skinner Jr., (Tamika), Anthony Skinner (Sharon) and Isaac Skinner; one sister, Denise Micqullia all of Chesapeake; her mother-in-law, Rita White; six sisters-in-law, and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at New Galilee Baptist Church, 1013 Great Bridge Blvd, Chesapeake with Pastor Rodney A. Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 2pm-7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
