Chesapeake - Delois B. Phillips, 72, of the 1900 block of Buckland Street died April 27, 2008. Mrs. Phillips was a retired teacher?s assistant for Chesapeake Public Schools. She was a member of St. Joseph A.M.E.Z. Church where she was a Deaconess.



Mrs. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Ruth B. Francis and her husband, Larry; a brother, Fred P. Granby (Catherine) of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by granddaughters, Deanna Francis and Jazmine Basnight, and grandsons, Jamel, Jermaine and Jeremy Basnight. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A graveside service will be held noon Friday at Roosevelt Memorial Park with Rev. Vincent Jones, officiating. A repass will be held immediately follow the service at St. Joseph AMEZ Church, 1648 Atlantic Avenue, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held 2 pm - 7 pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
