Norfolk - Derek Terumasa Beamon, 48, of the 1000 block of Dubose Drive departed this life May 23, 2007. Born in Norfolk, he was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church where he sang in the male choir.



He is predeceased by his sister, Kimberly M. Beamon. Survivors include his wife Faye Beamon and son Stephone Beamon of North Carolina, parents, Charlie and Annie Beamon of Norfolk, brother, Byron J. Beamon Sr. of Norfolk, five aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 2pm - 6pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
