Chesapeake - Doris Aunita Boone Tonkins (Dot), 66, of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd was called home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2012. Dot was born to the late Henry Boone and Angelena Scott Boone in Norfolk County. She was a member of First Baptist Church West Munden, where she was a choir member and the former church secretary. She is predeceased by her son, Thaddeus Maurice Boone, Sr.

Dot is survived by her daughters, Karen Boone Hawkins of Virginia Beach and Nicole Tonkins of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Thaddeus Boone, Jr. and Christian Hawkins of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Samuel Boone of Norfolk and Ronald Boone of El Cajon, CA; one sister, Ann Boone Govan of Chesapeake. She also leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church West Munden. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 3pm – 7pm Wednesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will receive friends from 6-7pm.
