Doris L. Wilson Edmonds, 83 years old, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She resided in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was born May 17, 1939, to the late Lee and Ardissia Wilson in Norfolk County, Virginia.

Doris graduated from Crestwood High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. Doris was employed with Sheraton Hotel, Norfolk, Virginia, for over 10 years as a Room Attendant. She loved taking care of her family and friends and was fondly known as the "Candy Lady" in the neighborhood.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Jacqueline P. Wilson; a sister-in-law, Maryanne Wilson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her son Larry Donnell Wilson; sister Georgianna Gibbs, brothers; Hurbert "Buck" Wilson, Samuel Albritton, and Roscoe R Wilson, Sr.; and son-in-law Elmo "Dynamite" Langston.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Friday, May 19, 2023 at Preltow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Viewing will be from 5pm until 7pm Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be 9:00 am Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St. Luke Church Cemetery, 241 St. Lukes Church Road, Chesapeake.
