Obituary
Chesapeake - Dorothy Mae Ashby, 64, of the 400 block of Harbour North Drive departed this life May 17, 2008. Born in Chesapeake, she was the widow of Melvin Ashby.
She is predeceased by her husband, Melvin Ashby and her parents, Linwood and Viona Boone. Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Boone of Chesapeake; two sons, James Boone of Chesapeake, and Freddie Boone (Pamela) of Portsmouth, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Friday at Jesus Church of Deliverance, 5246 Jones Lane, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery. Viewing will be held
2 pm - 7 pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
