Dorothy D. Gilliam was carried away to the arms of her Savior on October 21, 2014. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Fred and Darleatha Gilliam.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dorothy (Rhonda) Smith, Iran Butts and Jasmine Barner all of Severn, Md., grandson, Cameron Wimbush, brother Howard Gilliam and wife Rita, a sister, Valerie Allen, an aunt Deloris Hopkins, a special friend Marshall Jenkins, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Phillip Butts Jr.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 3-5pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Nov. 3 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
