Norfolk- Dorothy Lee Reid, 83 departed this life on Monday, February 20, 2012. She was a native of Norfolk, Virginia and the daughter of the late Floyd and Emma Whitmore. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard William Reid, Sr., her son Richard William Reid, Jr.; four sisters and one brother.

She was retired from the Norfolk Public School System where she had worked as a Dietician Manager. She attended the Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Survivors include her seven daughters, four Sons, a very special nephew that she raised as her son; 36 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; one great, great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 25, 2012 at Rock Church officiated, by Pastor Ann Geminez. Pretlows and Sons are handling the arrangements. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com .
