Dorothy Lee Rouse departed this life on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the Shorefront Jewish Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was born December 15, 1928 in Rockingham, North Carolina, the third child of four born to the late Ida and Jeffery Thomas. Dorothy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Campostella, where she enjoyed serving communion, cooking for friends and families, and ushering down the aisles of her beloved church. She served wherever she was needed and was a faithful dutiful member.
Dorothy was a very hard worker and was respected by those who came in contact with her. She will be missed dearly.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son, Herbert Rouse and his wife Olivia Rouse of Brooklyn, N.Y., one grandson, Herbert Rouse Jr. of Houston Texas, two brothers Nathaniel Thomas and Bernard Jones, one great granddaughter, Nariah Rouse and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church Campostella. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
