Dwight Douglas Langley, affectionately known as "SLY," was born on March 26, 1957, to the late Willie and Earnestine Langley.
On November 15, 2025, at the age of 68, God entered His Living Garden and chose a beautiful flower —Dwight D. Langley. Seeing that Dwight was tired, He gently called him home to rest.
Dwight was educated in Norfolk Public Schools. Throughout his life, he worked faithfully in various positions with the City of Norfolk, the City of Chesapeake, and the City of Virginia Beach, from which he retired in July 2018.
Dwight leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Terrance D. Goddard and Wayne D. Goddard of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Barry E. Langley of Norfolk, VA; and two sisters, Ethel M. Langley and Ann M. Langley, also of Norfolk, VA. He is lovingly remembered by three grandchildren - Armaan D. Goddard, Ja'Qwon Waff, and Faith Couther of Norfolk, VA—and a very special friend, Margaret Goddard, of Norfolk, VA.
He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hea
The funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty St., Chesapeake. Viewing will be Friday, November 28, 2025, from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.
