Norfolk - Mrs. Earle Harris Williams, 88, departed this life on October 9, 2007. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Robert L. Harris and Mattie Coston Harris. Earle was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert L. Harris and William (Bill) Harris. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and Virginia Union University, Mrs. Williams retired from the Norfolk School System as an elementary teacher after thirty years of service.



Mrs. Williams was a lifelong and faithful member of New Central Baptist Church and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Coriander Club and the Quette Club. She is survived by her husband, Ernest S. Williams; son, Michael K. Williams; sisters, Velma H. Bynum and Erma Hoggard (Russell); sister-in-law, Alease Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.





Homegoing services will be conducted by Reverend Donald Gaffney on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at New Central Baptist Church in Norfolk. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 2pm - 7pm Monday, October 15, 2007 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake where the family will meet-and-greet friends from 5pm-7pm.
