Obituary

Edith Green best known as Peaches, 66, departed this life on September 8, 2021, in her home in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was born on August 7, 1955, in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late Milton and Annie Mae Norman.

Edith married her husband James Green on May 28, 1977, and raised four amazing kids. She was a housewife and worked with her husband when they owned a furniture store. She was very open hearted and loving and went on to foster and babysit kids before she became ill. She loved to eat and believed that no one should go unfed.

Edith was a God-fearing woman and attended church at Great Joy Mission of Deliverance in Chesapeake. She was a woman of God, and would pray with you and for you no matter the circumstance. You could hear Peaches praying in her secret closet in her room where she would be giving God praises.

She is survived by her husband James Green; one daughter, Monica Green; eight grandchildren, James Morning, Alyssaia Smithwick, Antonio Green, Dennis Green, Amir Cross, Alijah Green, Devein Green, and Tone Green; five sisters Vivian Harvey (William), Alice Lennon, Tina Norman, Beulah Fletcher, Stephanie Harris (Timothy); two brothers Calvin Norman, and Thpmas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
