Edward Hunter, son of the late Henry Hunter and Doris Airline Hunter was born November 30, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia.  He was the oldest of six children.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolene Hunter.  He quietly answered the call to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Brother Edward received his education in the Chesapeake Public School System.  He was married over 30 years.  To this union there were no children.

Brother Edward accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  Brother Edward retired from Elizabeth River Terminal, Chesapeake, Virginia, with 28 years of service.  In his past times he enjoyed photography, watching his favorite westerns and having fun with his friends.

To cherish his memory, he leaves three sisters, Gloria Hunter of Chesapeake, Virginia, Gwendolyn Hunter and Linda Finney, both of Norfolk, Virginia; two brothers, Lumumba (Thandi) Lasana of Chesapeake, Virginia and Larry (Anita) Hunter of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one aunt, Elma Gilmore of New York, New York; one uncle Garfield (Holly) Artis of Suffolk, Virginia; three sisters-in-law Lucille Johnson, Alberta Neville and Shirley Donaldson;  two best friends, Larry Parker and Ronnie Anderson, both of Suffolk, Virginia; three special friends, Joseph Mills, Joey Mills, and Andrew Brooks, of Chesapeake, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Jesus Church of Deliverance, 5246 Jones Lane, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Pretlow and Sons FUneral Home, Chesapeake.
