Norfolk - Ella Elizabeth Whitfield, 82, of the 5500 block of Deep Dale Drive departed this life on May 7, 2014. Born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, she retired from the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul H. Whitfield, Sr.. Survivors include two sons, Paul H. Whitfield, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and Daryl K. Whitfield of Chesapeake; two sisters, one brother, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held noon Tuesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm Monday at the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
