Ellen Jordan passed away into eternal rest on January 13, 2023 at the age of 66. Ellen was born on June 23, 1956 in Chesapeake, Virginia, as it is known today, to the late Louise and Walter Jordan.

Ellen grew up in Green Ridge section of Chesapeake, Virginia, and attended Great Bridge High School, graduating in 1973.  She continued on to Norfolk State University where she attained her B.A. in Accounting in 1977. And, later retiring from Huntsman Chemical, where she utilized her extensive accounting background.

Ellen was a lifelong member of the Gabriel Chapel A.M.E Zion Church.  She proudly served in the Young Adult Choir and the Young Adult Usher Board.  Her roles as Financial Secretary and Officer of the Stewart Board meant she could use her talent for numbers and combine this with her drive to serve the Lord and her church family she adored.

Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Louise and Walter Jordan,
Foster Parents Great Aunt Eleanor and Uncle James Williams, brother, Johnny Jordan, Special Aunts, Martha (Liz) Wilson and Great Aunt Barbara Jones.

Ellen leaves to cherish her memories, her sibling's, Shirley Ross, William Jordan, Phyllis Ann Smith, Clifford Jordan, Mary Bunnell (Joseph), Thaddeus Lewis, Delma Baldwin (Carlton), Betty Lewis, Special Uncle Clarence Ivey (Sharon) and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ellen will forever be remembered for her generosity, humility, shy smiles, and her willingness to step in and help wherever needed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6421 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, where viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be held at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Road, Chesapeake.
