Elmo Linnette transition from labor to reward on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was born on January 15, 1939 in Norfolk Virginia to Samuel and Alease Linnette. He retired after 33 years from HRT and Norfolk Public Schools and then he retired after 10 years from Sentara Hospital. He was one of the founders of the Oakmont Athletic Association.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years Diane Linnette of Norfolk, VA; four sons Larry Linnette (Stacey) of Anderson, SC, Demetrius Linnette (Christina) of Norfolk, Reginald Linnette of Destin, FL and Antwon Woods (Ebony) of Norfolk; six daughters Bernita Manley of Washington, DC, Sierra Linnette(Wesley) and LaTonya Griffith (Hensley) of Chesapeake, Alease Yancy and LeTesha Stinnet (Joseph) of Virginia Beach and Natalie Negron (Louis) of Fords, New Jersey; two brothers Dennis Cooke (Cynthia) of Chesapeake and Wayne Linnette of Norfolk and one sister Yvonne Williams of Portsmouth, nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home from 3-7pm. A homegoing service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12 noon at Zion Light Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ.
