Emma Lee Rhodes, 85, was called home to rest December 2, 2008. She was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Anderson and Eunice Jones.

Mrs. Rhodes was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who will greatly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Milford Rhodes, Sr. Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her loving son Rev. Milford G. Rhodes, Jr.; a sister Fannie Askew of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren Morgan Rhodes (Ronald Scott), Melani Rhodes and Rev. Aimee Rhodes, all of Newport News, VA, nine great grandchildren, a niece Dr. Jacqueline Peace, a nephew Lee E. Peace, Jr., lifelong friend Catherine Mingo, and a host of loving cousins.
