Emma Wilson was born to the late Armer and Emma Mitchell on February 23, 1934 in Norfolk County, Virginia. She departed this life on November 15, 2022. Emma was employed by Guardian Care for 3 years, and Chesapeake Public School System for 33 years. She was predeceased by her husband John Wilson Sr., one brother Curtis Mitchell, Sr., and three sisters Lydia Taylor, Mary Bonner, and Delorse Perry.

Emma is survived by six children, Gloria Dawson, Annette Wilson (Albert), Teresa Wilson (Micheal), Cheryl Wilson (Lloyd), and John Wilson Jr. (Gay), all of Chesapeake, and Carolyn Vincent of Portsmouth.  She also leaves to mourn eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren: three siblings Armer Mitchell (Norma), Constance Williams (Ronald) and Barbara Jefferson.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 19, 2022 at The United House of Prayer for All People, 1433 Whittamore Road, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm Friday, November 18, 2022 at Pretlow and Sons Fueral Home, Chesapeake.
