Ernest James Brooks, Jr., affectionately known as "Junior" was born on March 12, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York to Ernest Brooks Sr. and Barbara Brooks.

Ernest expressed a special interest in cooking at an early age from watching his mother and grandmothers' [prepare family meals. This interest in cooking propelled him into the field of Culinary Arts and lead him to obtained his Associate Degree from Tidewater Community College in 2019.Ernest currently was employed at the "Fish N Pig" located in Norfolk, Virginia.

Ernest was the life of the party, whether there was a party or not. He will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to be graced by his presence. His love lives forever in our heart.

Ernest was predeceased by his father, Ernest Brooks, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Ernestine Brooks, his mother, Barbara Brooks, his sister, Deborah Brooks and nephew Lamar Brooks all of Norfolk, Virginia, and host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 12 noon Monday, February 6, 2023 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake.
