Norfolk - Evangelist Rosa L. Nixon Barnes passed away on Saturday April 12, 2014. Rosa was born May 26, 1923 to the late Robert and Annie L. Nixon. Rosa attended Booker T. Washington High School. She was married to the late Elder William Barnes.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Elizah Barnes (Carolyn), Veora Speller (Harry), William Andrew Barnes, William Anthony Barnes (Alice), Anne Greene, and Florence Correia; two nieces, Villa Johnson (Waymon), Doris Johnson; one nephew, Milton Nixon (Jeaneatha); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hood Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 611 Rockingham Street, Norfolk. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2-6pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home Chesapeake.
