Evelyn P. Owens, 86, of the 600 block of Marcus Street passed away peacefully in her home on August 19, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Kate Louise Parham and was born November 11, 1923 in Franklin, Virginia.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Carolyn Hunter and Marolyn Harrell (Roderick); three grandchildren, Roderick Harrell Jr., Shawna Hunter and Andrea Harrell, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special caregivers, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Monday from 3pm – 7 pm at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-7 pm.
