Evelyn Louise Sears, 75, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born in Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Mann and Rev. Annias Mann Sr.

She was a faithful servant of United House of Prayer, where she was a member of the female usher board, and the contact person for 16 years. She was a child care provider for over 50 years, and enjoyed helping the elderly in her church and community.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Doris Portlock, Arthur Mann, Thomas Mann, Daniel Mann, Cleo Hill, Calton Person, and. Alice Backus.

She is survived by her loving husband Deacon Willie M. Sears Sr.; seven children. Roscoe Jeffery Jr, Loretta Jeffery, Barbara Futrell, LaFond Pruitt, Eugene Cash, Willie Sears Jr. and Sheryl Boles; loving siblings Annias Mann Jr., Vernell White, and Emma Mann; seventeen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the United House of Prayer for All People, 1433 Whittamore Road, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 5-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
