Chesapeake – Everett Cortez Smith, 42, of the 1800 block of Beckwood Common departed this life October 14, 2010. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was previously employed at Panasonic Customer Call Center for 10 years, and currently employed at Harris Connect. He was a member of Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk, where he served as an usher.
He is predeceased by his father, William H. Smith. Survivors include his wife, Angela M. Smith of Chesapeake; his mother, Loretta Thomas and stepfather, Willie Thomas Jr. of Alabama; one brother, Terrence Smith of Alabama and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 3 – 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will receive friends from 6-7 pm.
