Although our hearts are heavy, we can still smile just remembering you, your love, your laugh, your voice, your companionship, and your strength. As our grief hangs heavy in our hearts, we feel joy knowing that you are at peace with God and suffering no more. You are gone, yet never forgotten for the unconditional love you have always shown us.
Floyd Leo Wilson, Sr., was born on August 10, 1967, in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late Wallace Wilson and Mittie Wilson Mann. He was employed with GFL Environmental Inc. as a truck driver. Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His favorite pastimes were watching his favorite football team, the Cleveland Browns. He also loved entertaining guests, fishing, playing horseshoes, and enjoying plenty of laughter.
Floyd entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Nathaniel Wilson, Roy Wilson Sr., and Marcia Freeman. His precious memories will be cherished by his wife Adriene Wilson; three sons Terreon Lawrence (Lashanda), Floyd Wilson Jr. (Jahna), and Cleveland Brooks (Kyara); three daughters Christina (Javon), Crystal and Lashaun; four brothers Wallace Wilson Jr. (Margaret), Everette Wilson (Felicia), George Wilson (Rita), and Curtis Wilson (Janell); a sister Mitting Gaynor (Ezell Jr.) and Antoinette Wilson; ten grandchildren Breasia, Tanasia, Davontae, Khamaya, Samyrah, Kamil, Londyn, Synaiya, Levi, and Remi; mother-in-law Ruthie Evans (Joey) and mother-in-law Hoa Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm, Monday, October 30. 2023 at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 1765 S Military Hwy, Chesapeake. Viewing will be from 3pm until 5pm Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
